“As night became day, he started to understand the truth."

Characters who are aware that they are fictional

Write a scene that includes the color green, literally or figuratively. Is your character wearing a green dress? Does someone feel envious? Are they recycling?

Open a book or magazine in your reading pile to a page of your choice. Pick six words from the page that sound interesting to you. Write a piece that uses all six of those words.

Character study: Amazon delivery driver (google the film Sorry We Missed You (dir. Ken Loach) for inspiration)

Poetry challenge: Get a pair of dice (or a dice-rolling app). Roll them twice, and record both numbers. The first number will be the amount of lines in your poem, the second will be the no. of syllables in each line. You now have a rigid structure within which to write a poem about a subject of your choice. No ideas? Roll the dice again and write about: 1 - rock collecting, 2 - a club night, 3 - car theft, 4 - wires, 5 - a credit card, 6 - cycling, 7 - falafel, 8 - a firework display, 9 - two dogs, 10 - a boat, 11 - the process of making tea, 12 - the radio

Describe this sculpture (see photo on this post), or mythicise its creation
